. we saw the film. relativistic time dilation, okay? steve smith did all the drawings. i told you steve smith was a dishwasher and after submitting the film to the american educational film festival in 1977 that got him first prize. steve then advanced to the status of a taxi driver. yeah, yeah, the arts, the arts. very rewarding, gang. why is it mommy and daddy get disappointed when you say you wanna be an art major, right? with the prices of housing going up, you say, you wanna be an art major, huh? on the film, we saw where time seemed to be different for people traveling and time was different for people at rest. it turned out the speed of travel for that particular case where we go from 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours was 60% the speed of light. you saw the film that kinda got into all the stuff about counting flashes, counting flashes and all that sort of things. would you like to see that nice and succinct so there's no question? so when you look at what i'm gonna put on the board, boom, it all makes sense? time dilation comes alive. would you like to see that? i can do that for you right

was into moviemaking, cartoons. i really liked his cartoons. they had a warmth to them. i really liked him: steve smith. i said, "steve, you know, i've got this little thing i do "with these little slides. "i wonder maybe you could make up a little cartoon movie. we could make a movie of this and share it with more people." and at that time, he was working as a dishwasher down on telegraph avenue. and i said, "steve, quit the dishwashing. "i'll grubstake you. i'll get you groceries. "i'll feed you and i'll grubstake me. were developing severe illnesses, many of which we had no treatment for. steve pieters: as i was pastoring the metropolitan community church of hartford, connecticut, and in 1981, we began hearing stories of this new gayancer and gay men getting a strange form of pneumonia. when i started getting sick in 1982, they still weren't quite sure what to call it. they hadn't discovered the virus. they could tell my immune system was severely deficient, but i didn't have any of what were then the five defining diseases of aids. well, the most important thing in investigating a new disease outbreak is to determine, in fact, is it really a new disease outbreak? is the disease new? is it occurring with greater frequency? who's affected by it, and where will it go? what are the horizons of the epidemic, if it's an epidemic? so the most important thing for us initially was to construct a case definition for what is now called aids. so it was decided that we would define aids on the basis of certain illnesses that were never seen in normal people that must somehow be part of this epidemic.

those up. i like that, steve. a good job. hendrick: it's important to help the child be successful when he does go back so that he has the experience of substituting acceptable for unacceptable behavior. it will probably be necessary to take a few minutes and get him really interested. be sure to congratulate the child when he's settled down, perhaps saying, "now you're doing the right thing, and i'm proud of you." i can hear you saying, "going through these steps is just fine, "but what if he goes back and does the same thing again? what then?"
